The summons issued by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar to appear before the corruption watchdog on August 12 have become public now.
The Punjab chief minister has been accused of illegally issuing a liquor sale licence to a private hotel, says the NAB. According to the NAB, it’s domain of the Punjab Excise and Taxation director general to issue a licence to a private hotel to sell liquor. The NAB says the Punjab chief minister issued the liquor sale licence to a hotel in excess of his powers. The NAB says that Usman Buzdar has been summoned to record his statement as part of an inquiry into the issuance of liquor sale licence.
