Prime Minister Imran Khan inspected Pakistani-made electronic voting machines developed by Science and Technology Ministry and extended congratulations to Federal Science Minister Shibli Faraz and his team on completion of the task, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a tweet uploaded on Sunday, Imran Khans said, “Looks finally we will have elections in Pakistan where all contestants will accept the results.”
Earlier, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan cast his ‘sample vote’ on the electronic voting machine (EVM) to be possible used in a future election in order to make them more credible and transparent.
The PM was given a briefing on the process and the performance of the EVMs before casting his vote to check the accuracy of the machines.
During the briefing, Shibli Faraz assured the PM that the EVMs were ready and there could be no tampering in them.
The federal minister informed the PM that they had made high-standard software of the machine and it does not internet.
The Prime Minister congratulated the team that developed the machines. On the direction of the PM, the Ministry of Science and Technology has also decided to inspect the voting machines for the members of Parliament and all four provincial assemblies of the country.
