‘CM Maryam Nawaz Free Wi-Fi Services’ now introduced in Nankana

After Lahore and Kasur, ‘CM Maryam Nawaz Free Wi-Fi Services’ have now been introduced in Nankana as well in line with the vision of the Punjab chief minister to make the province safe and secure for every citizen, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.


Apart from that, the CM has also ordered the introduction of these services at 250 more points in Lahore.


In Nankana, in the first phase, these services have been provided to people at five spots namely Masjid Chowk, Tehsil Morr Chowk, Kutchehry Rail Crossing and the railway station.  


As many as 25,000 people have availed the facility in the city so far, while they have used 250 GB data.  


In Kasur, free Wi-Fi services are available at 10 spots, including the DHQ Hospital, Women’s College, New Bus Terminal, railway station, Model Bazaar, DC Office Chowk and the National Bank Chowk, while on CM Maryam’s instructions, these services will be introduced at 20 more points in the city.    


On the other hand, the chief minister has said that the very fact that so far over five million people in Lahore have benefitted from these services is proof of their success. “Very soon people in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Gujranwala too will be able to avail the facility,” she has said, adding, “The Safe City Authority will be set up in 18 cities of Punjab by the end of this year.”


The chief minister has said that these services will be particularly useful for women and female students, who will be able to contact their families during emergencies.
