Established Pakistani actress Ushna Shah responded unapologetically to social media users for their ‘hypocrisy’ of targeting the country’s stars for wearing shorts or skimpy outfits and scrolling others in the same with great ambition. She also expressed regret for her apology which she offered previously after wearing a red ‘choli’ (short blouse) at her wedding.
Earlier, this week the actress posted videos and pictures from the 'LIV Golf Tournament' where she has been seen in an oversized white T-shirt paired with blue shorts. Cybercitizens took issues with her choice of attire.
Responding to the trolls, Ushna recently furiously stated: “A girl from a liberal background, who grew up in Canada, and wore shorts, etc with her friend is now married to a white man who is from a similar background and doesn’t care if she shows her legs when they are abroad and her Pakistani audience loses their mind.”
While regretting the past action she added: “The biggest mistake, I ever made was apologizing for wearing a red choli on my wedding and dancing, to the same people who will drool over the Nargis Fakhri of the world (also Pakistan, also Muslim) but will annihilate us for having a liberal upbringing that differ from theirs.”
The actress furthered: “I’m in my ‘over it’ era and go watch some item number and keep searching for porn, I’m too old to cater to your hypocrisy, I choose to live my life and be happy.”
Ushna Shah stance is appreciated by various showbiz stars. Pakistani actress and model Anzela Abbasi admired Ushna’s bold step to address the trolls daringly. Anzeela posted Ushna’comment on her Instagram story with adding: “Just are so real for saying ‘Mwah, Blocked.”s
