The famous Khokhar Brothers of PML-N, MNA Malik Afzal Khokhar and MPA Saiful Malook Khokhar from Lahore, have submitted their resignations to the party high-ups, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to City42, a sister organization of 24NewsHD TV channel, MPA Saiful Malook Khokhar said, “We have submitted our resignation to party leader Maryam Nawaz.”
“In Pakistan, right now, Maryam Nawaz is the leader of our party from the family of Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz,” Khokhar said.
He further said Maryam Nawaz is leading all rallies and the PDM movement from the PML-N. “I and my younger brother Malik Afzal Khokhar (MNA) have submitted resignations to the party because the selected and incompetent prime minister has dropped inflation bombs on the poor and prices of all essential commodities have skyrocketed and have now out of the reach of the poor people.”
He said the Federal Investigatiion Agency (FIA) and Anti-Corruption Establishment are raiding Khokhar Brothers’ houses. He alleged that CCPO Lahore is behind the raids on their houses. “This is not humanity at all and every member of the assemblies should be given due respect,” MPA Saiful Malook said.
He hoped that these resignations will be the foundation stone for mass resignations as PDM December 13 rally will be historic and will prove as the last nail in the government’s coffin.
He further alleged that Imran Khan has accepted Israel, sold Kashmir and gave access to India, which are the reasons that Khokhar Brothers had submitted resignations to the party leadership.
The latest move came on Tuesday a day after many other lawmakers forwarded their resignations to the party leadership.
PML-N MNA Chaudhry Hamid Hameed from NA-66-(Sargodha-III) had become the first lawmaker to forward his resignation to the party leadership on Monday.
Hamid Hameed said that the decision to tender resignation was decided in the meeting chaired by Shehbaz Sharif. Hamid Hameed said, “I am with Mian Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif and will remain with his leaders.”
“The government has become a burden on the country and the nation,” Hamid Hameed said and added. Hameed said resignations were necessary for bringing real democracy in the country.
Toeing the Hamid Hameed’s move, Chaudhry Iftikhar Hussain Chhachhar Punjab Assembly MPA from the PP-185 constituency, Basirpur, Depalpur Tehsil, Okara District also presented his resignation to the party.
Iftikhar said he was the first PML-N MPA from Sahiwal Division and general secretary of the Sahiwal Division to submit his resignation to the party leadership in line with the party's high command’s direction. He criticized the government’s policies and said that Prime Minister Imran Khan should go home. On Sunday last while addressing the social media convention of her party, PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz had hinted at resigning from assemblies.
