Corps Commanders’ Conference reviews global, regional and domestic security milieu

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has emphasized maintaining high vigil to guard against any threat, 24News HD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

The COAS said this while chairing the two days 245th Corps Commanders’ Conference held at GHQ. In the conference, General Bajwa expressed satisfaction over security measures along the borders.

Referring to the brewing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, COAS said continuous support and timely international humanitarian assistance is imperative for not only peace and prosperity of the neighbouring country but also for the stability of the region at large.

He also expressed satisfaction over ongoing training activities in the Army and said objective evaluation of doctrine and training is necessary to evolve and meet emerging challenges in a technology-driven future battlefield.

In the conference, the participants reviewed the global, regional and domestic security milieu.

Taking note of the heinous lynching incident in Sialkot, the conference unequivocally affirmed zero tolerance for such elements so as to eradicate extremism and terrorism from the country.
