Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Thursday was denied delivery of an aeroplane by the leasing company as they failed to pay the company in full, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
It was stated that PIA paid the leasing company $25 million and bought two Airbus planes. They paid the company half of the amount and demanded delivery of the planes.
The leasing company halted the second plane at Jakarta Airport as it was not paid for. One of the newly bought planes had reached Pakistan two days back.
It was stated that PIA loaned the money from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to pay the planes.
The PIA authorities said the amount will be paid in a few days and the plane will be brought to Pakistan. PIA is negotiating with the leasing company to secure the deal.
