Sindh govt in a quandary on how to utilize Rs13 billion flood funds

As the general elections are round the corner, due to be held in two months, the Government of Sindh has received flood fund amounting to Rs13 billion but the caretaker provincial government is in a quandary as how to utilize the funds, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The Rs13 billion funds are supposed to be disbursed among the flood-hit farmers of the province.
The money has to be distributed among flood affectees through bank account.
The provincial agricultural department has contacted the caretaker Sindh chief minister in this regard.
Sources said that the money will be disbursed among farmers who own 12.5 acres of agricultural land. However, small farmers will also get their share in the flood fund.
The growers were supposed to receive this money in the previous month.
Each farmer will be given Rs60,000 whose crops were destroyed during the catastrophic flood of 2022.
Sources in the agriculture department have disclosed that the government has collected data on the flood-affected growers.
