PTI-backed leader Chaudhry Muhammad Yousaf has decided to withdraw from the elections race, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Wednesday.
He was contesting election from PP-35, Wazirabad.
A video statement that went viral on social media plateforms, he announced to withdraw from the elections. "I have decided to withdraw from PP-35.”
However, his family members have a different story to tell. They said that Chaudhry Yousaf was arrested few days earlier along with his two sons and a brother-in-law.
The statement of withdrawal is taken from him by the police under pressure, they added.
PTI leader Chaudhry Yousaf was also nominated in 9 May riot cases by police.
He bagged 50,000 votes in the general elections 2018.
