Ministry of Law and Parliamentary Affairs issued notification for appointment of nine new additional judges of Lahore High Court (LHC), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Now total number of judges who were deputed at Lahore High Court has risen to 43, while 17 posts of judges are still vacant.
The newly-appointed nine judges will take oath of their offices soon, while final preparations for the oath taking ceremony are underway.
Sources said that oath-taking ceremony of the judges could be held today or tomorrow.
Chief Justice of Lahore High Court Justice Aalia Neelum will administer oath to the newly-appointed judges.
Justice Hassan Nawaz Makhdoom, Justice Malik Waqar Haider Awan, Justice Sardar Akbar Ali, Justice Mohammad Javed Iqbal Venus, Justice Syed Ahsan Raza Kazmi, Justice Mohammad Jawwad Zafar and Justice Khalid Ishaq, Justice Malik Mohammad Awais Khalid, Justice Chaudhary Sultan Mehmood will take oath as LHC judges.
