Stranded tourists shifted to 5 army relief camps in Murree: ISPR

The Pak army Saturday started shifting all stranded tourists to five army relief camps established at Murree, said a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations.

According to the military’s media wing’s statement, food and shelter will be provided to people affected by heavy snowfall.

Army relief centres have been established at Army School of Technicians Barian, Military College Murree, Jhika Gali, APS Kuldana, Station Supply Depot Sunny Bank.

FWO dozers and army engineers are busy keeping roads open and the Murree Express opened and cleared for any fresh snow by NHA/ FWO/ Army Engineers.

The statement added that all resources at the disposal of the Murree division in terms of engineers and machinery have been mobilised and will remain in the field till all people are evacuated.

Special arrangements are being made to evacuate people on military transport and a Central Control Division has been established at Murree Division.

Rescue centres have been established at APS and Army School of Logistics Kuldana. All relief camps have been provided with heating arrangements.

Heavy machinery from Murree, Army Engineers Division and FWO is working without any pause to assist people who are struck.

Troops are out in the field where machinery can’t reach, troops have been moved and they are clearing traffic and opening roads.
