British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott met former premier Nawaz Sharif on Monday, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz Sharif were also present. Matters of mutual interest came under dissuasion during the meeting.

Nawaz Sharif said A strong relationship between Pakistan and the UK is in the interest of both countries.

Pakistanis living in Britain are playing an important role in strengthening the bilateral friendship and cementing relations between Pakistan and the UK in various fields, including trade and investment, is  the need of the hour.

The British High Commissioner shared the meetings with various political parties in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.

The UK envoy said holding fair elections on February 8 is very important for the future of Pakistan.

The British high commissioner congratulated Nawaz on his acquittal in various cases.
