A group of bandits attacked several cargo vehicles going inland from Karachi on Monday, looting their goods and torturing their drivers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.

The robbers released a video of the horrific ordeal, sparking fear and outrage among the goods transporters.

The All Karachi Goods Transporters Association (AKGTA) held an important meeting to discuss the situation and decided to give a strong response to the attack.

The president of the association, Noor Khan Niazi, demanded the government to immediately restore the safety of their drivers and provide protection to the goods transporters. He said that in the current situation, freight vehicles cannot continue delivering goods to export, import and factories from Karachi and inside the country.

He warned that a complete shutdown will be announced after consultation with all stakeholders if the government fails to act.

Niazi also said that he has been appealing to the governments for sixteen years to take action against the dacoits of Kashmore, who have been terrorizing the transporters for a long time.
