People protesting against the kidnappings of nine truck drivers in district Kashmore blocked the Indus Highway on Sunday for several hours to press the authorities for their release, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The blockage of the road led to long queues of vehicles and left people stranded out in the open in extreme cold.
The protestors said that the police had failed to control law and order situation in the province.
They said despite operations conducted by the police and Rangers, incidents of kidnappings for ransom, instead of decreasing, had increased.
On the other hand, the protestors vowed to continue their sit-in till the release of all captives.
Police officials, present on the occasion, told them that they were busy conducting an operation in the katcha area for the release of their loved ones.
