An aid convoy of a dozen vehicles carrying food supplies, medicines and fuel has finally reached Parachinar amid tight security, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a video statement Deputy Commissioner Kurram Ishfaq Khan has confirmed that aid convoy has reached Parachinar peacefully.
DC Ishfaq Khan has urged the people of the area to cooperate with security forces and administration.
He also pledged that the administration will take strict action against the perpetrators of attack on former DC.
The convoy was dispatched along with strict security escort after the administration held talks with the area’s elders and notables which were successful, the sources said. The sources further said that the administration and the Thall Souts have put in place all the security arrangements for the aid convoy. Originally, the aid convoy was consisted of 85 vehicles but after the gun attack on Kurram deputy commissioner, the convoy was reduced to 12 vehicles only.
