Pakistani activist and Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai, women’s rights advocate, recognised worldwide for speaking out against inequality, has graduated from Oxford University in a virtual graduation ceremony.
She was also part of the popular line-up in YouTube original, Dear Class of 2020 – where Michelle Obama, Beyoncé and more stars came together to celebrate the graduates.
YouTube shared a 12-second clip of Malala from the special virtual commencement ceremony.
In the video clip, uploaded on twitter, Malala said: “Don’t be afraid by what you lose in this crisis, but by how you respond to it. You have gained your education, now it’s time that you go out and use it for the betterment of the world. Congratulations to the class of 2020.”
Yousafzai has spent years fighting for girls around the world to get to go to school. And after overcoming her own obstacles to get her education, Yousafzai is now an oxford graduate.
