National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal has refused to bow to pressure allegedly mounted by influential persons to abort accountability mission, sources said on Tuesday.

According to 24NewsHD TV Channel, the insiders said that Shaukat Tareen, before taking oath as a minister, attempted to get relief for a business mogul in a meeting but the bureau chief reiterated accountability-for-all resolve.

NAB has shown reservations about Asad Umer's statement on NAB laws, the sources said, adding that the anti-corruption watchdog categorically rejected the speculations of harassing traders and businessmen in the name of accountability.

Such acts are aimed at mounting pressure on the bureau to halt proceedings against big fish, the insider said adding that the accountability body chief wont surrender to such gimmicks.
