The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday rejected the petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader and Leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh for protective bail, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
IHC Chief Justice (CJ) Athar Minallah, in his remarks, said that the court had already granted ‘protective bail’ to the petitioner for a period of three weeks. “During that period, Haleem had to appear in the Sindh High Court (SHC) since his case fell in its jurisdiction,” the CJ said, and added, “The IHC could not interfere in the SHC’s domain. The petitioner is advised to go to the SHC.”
The petitioner’s counsel had told the court that the Sindh government wanted to arrest his client in false and fabricated cases so that he could not attend the provincial assembly’s budget session.
