Despite the court order, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) is yet to be granted permission by Lahore deputy commissioner for its workers’ convention which it plans to hold in Lahore tomorrow on Sunday (June 9), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Sources told 24News that in case PTI was not allowed to go ahead with its programme, the party planned to hold protest demonstrations in the city the following day on June 10.
The party was adamant that it would hold the power show come what may, they disclosed.
A week ago, the PTI had issued the schedule for seven workers’ conventions across Punjab, including Lahore.
The first convention, the party said, would be held in Kasur on June 5, second in Gujranwala, third in Bahawalpur on June 8, fourth, fifth and sixth in Lahore, Sahiwal and Sialkot on June 9, while the seventh one in Sargodha on June 15.
The PTI’s high command had directed all party workers to ensure their participation in these conventions.
Later, in view of its convention in Lahore, the PTI submitted an application to the deputy commissioner.
