Pakistan confirms 7th coronavirus case in Karachi

Health officials said on Sunday that another man has tested positive for novel coronavirus in Karachi, taking the tally in Sindh to four so far.

Officials of the Sindh Health Department told the participants in a meeting of the Taskforce on Coronavirus four tests were conducted on Sunday and one of the four patients tested positive for the virus.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, who chaired the taskforce meeting, said that tests of all relatives and anyone who came in contact with him should be conducted.

The Sindh Health Department has conducted 107 people’s tests so far and four of them tested positive so far. One of the coronavirus patients, who was being treated in Karachi, has recovered fully and was discharged from the hospital on Saturday.

The meeting was told that planned arrival of some people from the Taftan border between Pakistan and Iran has been delayed and now these people will leave Taftan at 5pm on Monday.

Also on this occasion, the chief minister reviewed the arrangements in Sukkur for treatment of coronavirus patients. He also issued instructions to the Sukkur commissioner in this regard.
