Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has restored free treatment for 100 per cent of the population of the province under the Sehat Card from the 1st of Ramazan, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.
This, he announced while chairing a meeting which was also attended by the officials of State Life Insurance.
On the instructions of the Chief Minister, Rs5 billion was immediately released to the State Life Insurance Company to restore free treatment under the health card.
Ali Amin Gandapur said after law and order, the welfare of the people is the main priority of the provincial government.
The Sehat Card is the main public welfare scheme, he said, stressing that the programme will go on at all costs.
The funds for payment of State Life arrears will be provided on a priority basis, he said, adding that necessary reforms will be made to ensure transparency in the scheme so that maximum benefits could reach the public.
