Former judge Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi decided to challenge the Supreme Judicial Council’s finding.

Reacting to the SJC’s findings, the former top court judge said all the characters would be exposed at the forum concerned.

“The law does not allow an inquiry to continue after a judge resigns,” he said questioning the SIC convert resignation into dismissal.”

He added: “The complaints against me were political and the complainants belonged to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.

“The baseless action against me started after the May 18 2022 dissident note.

“In the note, I said that we should take notice of the transfer of investigation officers in the corruption cases against PML-N.”

He came down hard on the chief justice saying: “The Chief Justice of Pakistan is a biased person who is not worthy of respect.

“The council misrepresented the facts during the proceedings.

“The chairman completed the work of the council before the retirement of Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, Justice Ameer Bhatti and the appointment of Justice Naeem Afghan to the Supreme Court.

"All this was done because it would not have been so easy to control the new formation of the council.”

He questioned what misconduct he had done and where evidence of abuse of office was.

“It is a matter of record that all the witnesses testified in my favour.  When the media wing of PML-N was running a campaign against me, why was it not stopped?”
