Celebrated poet Anwar Masood has been celebrating his 87th birthday today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Anwar Masood’s son Ammar Masood shared a tweet that said that his father has been celebrating his 87 birthday.

“On his birthday, my father misses my mother and kept on reciting his couplet which he wrote on the demise of my mother.. Khad Mein Dhondtay Hain Soopna Log…Ham ny sona suparday khaak kiya.”

He was born on 8th November 1935.

Masood's poetry is known for the unique use of everyday, commonplace phrases and wording that is instantly relatable for masses in the region. Numerous of his Punjabi lines and phrases have actually become a figure of speech in everyday conversations.
