Lahore’s local govt takes measures to combat and stop smog

The Local Government Lahore arrested, fined and filed cases against those who contributed to smog and pollution, stated the report of the Anti-smog campaign Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel

According to the reports, 32 people who burnt the garbage and violated the orders given in this respect were arrested and others were fined heavily. Cases were filed against 188 people who contributed to the spread of pollution.

The report stated that the garbage burners have been fined Rs869000 to date whereas the encroachers have been fined Rs8.5 million.

The local government has planted around 69000 plants to control and eliminate environmental pollution. Water sprinkling has also been stepped up to combat dust and smog.

Local government secretary Syed Mubashar Hussain said that the citizens are requested to cooperate with the government to eliminate smog.
