Pakistan's former fast bowler Wahab Riaz Tuesday said using the bowlers tactfully during the semifinal at Sydney cricket ground can do wonders for Pakistan and also define the result of the match.
Talking to 24 Digital, Wahab Riaz said spinners could play a better role on a dry Sydney pitch and full usage of part-time and regular spinners according to the situation can help Pakistan.
“Pakistan have not used Nawaz or Iftikhar in the previous matches due to non-suitable conditions. However, spinners could play a better role on a dried pitch at Sydney cricket ground and should be used tactfully.”
Praising New Zealand’s bowling, Wahab said their bowling lineup is complete and delivering and both of their spinners are also delivering goods for the team.”
Wahab said Pakistan would need some exceptional gameplay to overcome the Kiwis' challenge who have till now shown no chinks in their armour.
The former Pakistan pacer, who took 237 international wickets for Pakistan, said Pakistan should play the semi-final with the same attitude they play against South Africa and they needed to be aggressive on the field.
Wahab said Pakistan would need to play to their full potential if they want to progress further in the event.
