A district and sessions court in Islamabad Tuesday remanded former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry in police custody for one more day, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Fawad Chaudhry was produced in the Islamabad court upon the completion of his two-day physical remand.
He had been remanded in police custody for two days by Area Magistrate Abbas Shah.
A case of Rs5 million worth fraud is registered against Fawad Chaudhry at Abpara police station.
Prosecutor Adnan Ali requested the court to grant Fawad Chaudhry’s physical remand for another five days.
Defence lawyer Ali Bukhari opposed the request for further remand of Fawad Chaudhry.
He pleaded with the court to discharge Fawad Chaudhry in the case.
The court, however, granted one-day physical remand of Fawad Chaudhry to police.
