Mohsin Naqvi chairs CDA meeting to finalise SCO Summit arrangements

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday presided over a meeting to review arrangements for holding Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit next week. The meeting was held at Capital Development Authority (CDA) in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


Chief Commissioner Islamabad Mohammad Ali Randhawa briefed the participants of the meeting about preparations and arrangements for holding the SCO Summit.


During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi directed beautification of VVIP routes located in Red Zone area. He also directed to display attractive landscaping on important roads of the federal capital.


Mohsin Naqvi directed to decorate Islamabad city with fancy lights and flowers.


He further directed the concerned authorities to complete finishing necessary repairing and decoration of Jinnah Convention Centre on priority basis.


Mohsin Naqvi said that holding of SCO Summit truly reflects the successful foreign policy being adopted by Pakistan.


He said all necessary measures should be adopted for cleanliness of entire Islamabad and specially decoration of VVIP routes and Red Zone area.


He ordered concerned authorities to take stern action against illegal societies without any discrimination.


He said a comprehensive strategy should be adopted to remove all illegal construction and encroachments from Islamabad and no leniency will be allowed in this regard.


Mohsin Naqvi directed Commissioner Islamabad and Commissioner to work jointly to curb dengue virus in the boundary areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.


He directed both commissioners to adopt joint strategy to curb spread of dengue virus and specially on those areas where dengue patients increasing. He directed to enhance surveillance in these areas.
