The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has taken notice of complaints about exuberant rapid PCR test fee at the airports.

The aviation authority said it got complaints from the UAE passengers that they were being overcharged for the rapid PCR test by the airlines.

The CAA DG said no airline could charge more than Rs5,000 from a passenger for a rapid PCR test and issued directives to the airport managers to make sure the passengers were not fleeced.

“If the airlines refuse to accept the fixed fee test fixed, it should be linked with its regulatory conditions,” the CAA official said.

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has allowed all visa holders from Pakistan to visit the Kingdom from August 30.

However, the travellers will undergo rapid PCR tests ahead of the flight to Dubai while making airlines responsible for the negative test of the travellers. The passengers had to undergo a PCR test 72 hours prior to traveling to the Kingdom.
