Punjab CM pays visit to Data Darbar

Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi visited Data Darbar and reviewed arrangements for the Urs celebrations on Thursday.

Caretaker ministers Syed Azfar Ali Nasir and Amir Mir, senior journalist Sohail Waraich, Data Darbar Administrator Shahid, Commissioner Mohammad Ali, DC Rafia Haider, Auqaf Secretary Tahir Raza Bukhari, CCPO Bilal Siddique and officials concerned were also present.

The caretaker government announced a local holiday in Lahore on Thursday on account of the Urs. The three-day celebrations consisted of various events shedding light on the teachings of the Sufi.

Devotees set up special stalls offering free food and beverages to the visitors. The government made special arrangements to maintain law and order and provide the visitors with a foolproof security cover.

Also, the chief minister visited the shrine of Bibi Pakdaman after the tour of Data Darbar. He reviewed the progress of the construction work shrine and issued directives to finish the task at the earliest.
