Punjab Police, with the assistance of Interpol, have arrested a dangerous fugitive proclaimed offender, Tasawwur Hussain, from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The arrest comes as part of a sweeping crackdown on criminals involved in serious offenses like murder, robbery, and kidnapping.

Inspector General (IG) of Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, confirmed the arrest and praised the police team for their exemplary efforts.

Hussain, previously evading law enforcement, had fled to the UAE following his alleged involvement in a murder case in Jhelum. His escape prompted the Punjab Police to issue a red notice through Interpol, seeking his arrest and extradition to Pakistan.

A spokesperson for the Punjab Police emphasised the tightening grip around advertisers involved in grave criminal activities, indicating the effectiveness of the ongoing operation. Remarkably, this year alone, the Punjab Police have managed to arrest 114 such advertisers overseas, bringing them back to face justice on Pakistani soil.

These arrests spanned various countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, multiple European nations, and Gulf states.

As the crackdown continues, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar urges the police force to amplify their efforts. "Our mission is to ensure that these criminals do not find a safe haven anywhere in the world," stated Dr. Anwar.

He further advocated for strengthening ties with relevant agencies, including the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Interpol, to expedite the arrest and repatriation of such individuals.

The arrested suspect, Tasawwur Hussain, is now set to undergo further legal proceedings. With this arrest serving as a testament to Punjab Police's determination, many anticipate that those evading justice will soon find it increasingly challenging to remain hidden.
