Several flights have either been canceled or delayed at Karachi's Jinnah International Airport due to technical and operational issues leaving many passengers stranded, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to details shared by sources, both domestic and international flights were affected disrupting several passengers in their travel plans.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and several private airlines, including Air Blue, Serene Air, and Air Sial were affected due to technical and operational faults.
Among the most notable cancellations was PIA’s flight PK-831 from Karachi to Jeddah, which was grounded, Air Blue also canceled several flights, including PK-206 from Karachi to Islamabad and PK-402 to Quetta.
Serene Air canceled two key flights from Karachi to Lahore (ER-524, ER-522) and delayed its flight ER-504 to Islamabad by one hour.
Air Sial’s flight PF-125 from Karachi to Islamabad was delayed by three hours, while PF-145 and PF-143 from Karachi to Lahore were both canceled.
The international flight network was also severely disrupted. Saudi Arabia’s Flynas canceled flights XY-638 and XY-637 between Karachi and Jeddah, causing inconvenience to passengers heading to the kingdom.
PIA also faced multiple cancellations. The airline’s domestic flights from Karachi to Lahore (PK-306, PK-302) and Quetta (PK-310) were all canceled, while PK-308 to Islamabad was delayed by an hour.
Another Islamabad-bound PIA flight, PK-368, and the flight to Sukkur (PK-536) were also called off.
Lastly, PIA’s service to Turbat, flight PK-501, was among the canceled flights.
The airlines have cited "technical and operational reasons" for these disruptions, though they have not provided further details on the nature of the issues.
