The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced to start an air ambulance service in the province, a significant move towards enhancing healthcare accessibility for the masses, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The decision was made during a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister of KP Ali Amin Gandapur, alongside officials from the provincial health department.

Directives were issued to expedite necessary measures for the launch of the air ambulance service within four months.

The meeting members also decided to establish motorbike response units for the diffusely populated areas of the province.

These units will be outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment and essential medicines to provide initial medical assistance and work in emergencies.

Additionally, Hayatabad is slated to be designated as a Health Care City, with plans to set up Health Information and Service Delivery Units within government hospitals throughout the province.

Moreover, an Executive Health Check-Up Program will be launched for senior citizens aged 65 and above in major government hospitals, offering free check-ups every three months.

Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Amin Ali Gandapur emphasized the need to formulate a new health policy to modernize the healthcare sector and upgrade THQ hospitals to be included in the health card panel.
