In a transformative initiative aimed at enhancing the lives of residents in Karachi’s informal settlements (Katchi abadis), the Karachi Water and Sewerage Services Improvement Project (KWSSIP) and the National Rural Support Program (NRSP) have collaborated to paint impactful visual messages on the walls in the Soba Nagar area. The murals focus on two key messages: "Adopt the habit of boiling water before drinking" and "Illuminate children’s lives with the light of knowledge."

The painted walls have become a focal point within the local community. Residents, members of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and members of the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) committees have highly praised the effort. They expressed that these visual campaigns will not only raise awareness about health-related matters but also have a positive impact on children's education, a major concern in the area.

Local community members emphasized that such awareness campaigns will significantly improve the challenges faced by the neighborhood, leading to a positive shift in behaviors and attitudes. They also suggested that similar campaigns be expanded to other areas of the city to raise awareness about the importance of healthy living and encourage people to take steps toward improving their children's future.

This activity, carried out as part of the KWSSIP-NRSP "Behavioural Change Campaign," aims to create long-term positive changes in the community's behaviors, addressing and resolving their issues.
