The Punjab government on Wednesday announced it would appoint 23,000 intern teachers in 2,000 upgraded schools across the province, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
According to details, these schools were upgraded on the recommendations of MPAs and social personalities of the relevant areas during the last five years.
The current government also approved SNE for 781 schools. These teachers will be appointed in these schools.
During the tenure of the previous government, 1229 primary schools were upgraded and granted a higher-level cadre.
As many as 51 schools were upgraded in Lahore, while the process to appoint School Teacher Internships (STI) will be completed by August this year.
The approval of the budget will be obtained from the provincial cabinet committee.
The appointment of STIs will help to fill the vacant posts of teachers in the province.
As many as 1200 school teacher interns are already appointed in the province.
