The Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) observed a strike on Wednesday in protest against the armed attack on Karachi Bar Association President Advocate Aamir Warraich, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported.

As part of the protest, SHCBA locked the main gates of the Sindh High Court, only allowing judicial staff to enter the premises while barring access to all others, including litigants and general visitors.

Speaking to the media, SHCBA Secretary Mirza Sarfraz Ahmed said the strike was announced to condemn the life-threatening attack on a senior lawyer.

He added, “We thank God that the Karachi Bar President’s life was saved, and his condition is now stable. Doctors discharged him late last night after successful treatment.”

Mirza Sarfraz further confirmed that the bar has formally requested the chief justice of the Sindh High Court not to issue strict orders against lawyers who were unable to appear in court today due to the strike, emphasising that the legal fraternity stands united on this matter.
