Washing of vehicles in homes completely banned, violators to face 10k fine, legal action

On the directives of Lahore High Court, Punjab Environment Department has imposed complete ban on washing to vehicles in homes and violators has to face Rs10,000 fine and legal action, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. Deputy Director Environment Ali Ejaz has launched awareness notices to the residents in Lahore. 

The awareness notice also appeal the citizens to conserve water. According to the text of the awareness notice, in view of the severe water shortage, an immediate ban has been imposed on washing vehicles with clean tap water. Those who violate the ban will be fined 10,000 and legal action will be taken. The awareness notice further states that the purpose of the ban is to preserve water for human needs, cooking and cleaning. Citizens are requested to use alternative methods to wash vehicles. 

The people are advised to use recycled water, visit a car wash center that recycles water, use waterless cleaning products. 

In the awareness notice, Deputy Director Ali Ijaz has said that the Environment Department appeals to all domestic consumers for full cooperation, water should be conserved, so that this precious resource can be protected. 

A report on the performance of the Environment Department will be presented in the Lahore High Court on April 11.
