Parents demand closure of educational institutions over Covid-19 spread

As the ratio of the spread of the coronavirus in Lahore has reached 9.2 per cent, parents have demanded the government announce closure of educational institutions so that their children could remain safe from the pandemic, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
At the same time, 565 new cases of the virus have been reported from different parts of the city during the last 24 hours.
People have said that not only educational institutions should be closed immediately but that the students age 18 and above as well as the teachers should also be vaccinated against the disease.
They have argued that by doing so not only the lives of students could be saved but also of teachers.
Pakistan reported 53 more casualties due to the coronavirus and 4040 new virus cases during the last 24 hours (Sunday), showed the data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Monday morning.
The positivity ratio of coronavirus cases was noted at 7.54 per cent.
According to the statistics released by NCOC, after the addition of 53 new deaths, the toll has now surged to 23,918, which represents a ratio of 2.3 percent.
The positivity ratio of the coronavirus cases in Pakistan has reached 7.54 percent, as 4,040 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 53,528 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 1,071,620 that returned positive after conducting 16,501,934 total tests so far.
