USAID provides one million corona diagnostic kits to Pakistan

Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Health Dr Faisal Sultan Monday said Pakistan had received one million antigen rapid diagnostic kits for early diagnosis of coronavirus.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, Dr Faisal thanked the US government for providing the kits and said such efforts would help further strengthen bilateral ties between both countries.

The USAID handed over the diagnostic kits to Pakistani authorities in a ceremony held here in Islamabad.

 Dr Faisal said that this assistance reflects the deep friendly relations and bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

On the occasion, USAID Mission Director Julie Quinn said that the assistance provided by USAID would help to strengthen the health system and development of the vaccines.

The USAID mission director said under the corona aid package, more than US$40 million has been allocated for the rehabilitation of Corona patients in Pakistan, in addition to providing 200 ventilators to Pakistan.
