Lahore High Court (LHC) has upheld the verdict of the lower court that had abolished former premier Imran Khan’s right to defend in a Rs 10 billion defamation case filed against him by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The LHC dismissed the pleas filed by Imran Khan seeking nullification of the verdict of the lower court in Rs 10 billion defamation case filed against him by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. The lower court, in a verdict, had abolished Khan’s right to defend.
In a hearing held today, the LHC Judge Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal upheld the verdict of the lower court and dismissed Khan’s plea.
In the plea, it was stated that Khan raised objections on the Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s questions which were rejected by the court. The court abolished Khan’s right to defend upon his failure to answer the questions of Shahbaz.
