PA resolution felicitates PM Shahbaz over winning defamation case against Daily Mail

British publication “Daily Mail” tenders apology to premier for accusing him of corruption in flood funds in an article published in 2019

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker Hina Pervez Butt has submitted a resolution in Punjab Assembly to congratulate Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif over his historic win as British publication “Daily Mail” tendered apology to the premier for accusing him of corruption in flood funds in an article published in 2019, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

In the resolution submitted by MPA Hina, she wrote that this house congratulates Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif for getting an honor at the international level. She stated that Daily Mail apologized to the premier for hurling fake allegations against him.

Hina also mentioned in the resolution that former prime minister Imran Khan and his then advisor on accountability Shehzad Akbar gave the task to the correspondent of Daily Mail to do fake propaganda.

He wrote that Shahbaz Sharif served the nation for ten years without taking any salary or privileges. She stated that Shahbaz saved billion of rupees of taxpayers in the completion of mega projects.

She also stated that Imran Khan and Shahzad Akbar should also apologize to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
