Some unknown assailants Saturday opened fire at a marriage procession near Pabbi GT Road, Nowshera resulting in the loss of two lives and injuring five others critically, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.  

According to rescue and police officials, the wounded were promptly shifted to Mian Rashid Hussain Shaheed Memorial Hospital for medical attention. Two dead bodies were also shifted to the morgue for medical examination.

The injured persons including two men, two women, and a child requiring intensive care have been subsequently transferred to a hospital in Peshawar.

After the firing, the unidentified assailants managed to escape the scene, prompting law enforcement to launch an immediate search operation.

The motives behind the attack remain unclear, and Nowshera police are actively investigating the incident to apprehend the culprits.
