Hazrat Shah Inayat Qadri 296th urs begins

The 295th urs celebrations of Hazrat Shah Inayatullah Qadri began on Tuesday in Lahore's Shahrah-e-Fatima Jinnah previously known as Queen’s Road, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The three-day urs celebrations started with the performance of ghusl and chadar-poshi amid the presence of dozens of devotees.

Special prayers were also offered for the peace and security of the country. 

The urs celebrations will continue till February 11. Police took strict security measures and installed walk through gates for devotees. The road from Ganga Ram Hospital to the shrine has been closed for all kinds of traffic.

Provincial Minister for Auqaf Syed Saeed ul Hassan said the religion of Islam was spread through the teachings of the saints in Sub-continent who taught peace and equality.

He said the government is working on the call (protest call) of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP). The provincial minister said the government will try to resolve the issue through talks. Shah said in the current situation we have to follow the message of the saints.

Mehfil-e-Samaa will be held at the shrine on the final day of urs in which religious, political and social personalities possibly participate.

Several food stalls have been set up where Haleem, tea and other tasty food items are available for the coming devotees. 

According to historians, Shah Inayat Qadiri is famous as the murshid (spiritual guide) of the universal Punjabi poet Bulleh Shah who danced for Shah Inayat in order to win Shah Inayat blessings for him. 

He wrote mostly in Persian. His works include Dasturul Amal, Islahul Amal, Lataif-e-Ghaib, and Ishrat Ul Taliban.
