British High Commissioner meets Ch Shjaat Hussain

The British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott Tuesday called on Pakistan Muslim League (Q) chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain in Lahore, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

The meeting was also attended by PML-Q Senior Vice President Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Muntaha Ashraf.

Further improvement of mutual relations between the two countries was discussed during the meeting.

Former prime minister Ch Shujaat Hussain said that Pakistan attached great importance to its relations with the United Kingdom.  “There is a need to further expand these relations between the two countries,” he added.

 The political situation of Pakistan, especially the upcoming elections, was also discussed in the meeting.

Marriott underscored the importance of conducting inclusive elections on February 8 for Pakistan’s future. 

The British High Commissioner said that his country supports democracy in Pakistan and appreciates every initiative in this regard.
