A sudden fire has broken out in the forests of Koh-e-Suleman in Dera Ismail Khan destroying large number of olive and pine nut trees, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
The fire was burning at three to four different places and was spreading further and there was a fear of more damage to olive and pine nut trees.
Flames rising from the mountains can be seen far from the tehsil headquarters of Dera Ismail Khan, Darra Zinda.
According to the locals of Darra Zinda, a fire has broken out at four different places at the foot of Koh-e-Suleman.
Fire can be seen in the village of Tajri to the north of the mountain and in the village of Almar Kalan to the south of the other mountain.
According to the locals, the fire broke out two days ago, but in the last few hours, this fire has now spread over several kilometers which can be clearly seen in the darkness of the night.
According to the residents, the fire may cause more damage to valuable olive, pine nut and other trees. The fire has also harmed wildlife and birds.
There are still no significant activities being carried out by the Wildlife and Forest Department to extinguish the fire in the Darra Zinda area.
