NAB approves inquiries against Dr Zafar Mirza, Amir Kayani

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) executive board on Tuesday approved inquiries against Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza and former health minister Amir Kayani, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

After the approval, the NAB will now investigate against the former health minister Amir Kayani and incumbent health advisor in the federal government.

On May 19, the government had curtailed powers of Dr Zafar Mirza. The decision had been taken after the prime minister took notice of the scam involving import of life-saving medicines from India. Mirza had been accused of misuse of permission regarding the import of medicines.

The NAB also approved inquiry to investigate the complaint against Civil Aviation Officers and CDA Officers.

The Nab has also forwarded the inquiry of the audit para against the officers of Federal Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources to the concerned ministry.

NAB press release said that NAB headed by Justice retired Javed Iqbal, has so far deposited Rs178 billion in the national treasury in two years.
