Lahore Qalandars Wednesday win the toss and bowl first against Islamabad United as the remainder of Pakistan Super League’s sixth edition restarts in Sheikh Zayed Stadium of Abu Dhabi.
Islamabad had an upper hand over Lahore Qalandars as they have won all the last five fixtures against their opponents.
In the first half of the PSL held in Karachi, the trend was to win the toss and field first to win the match. The trend was just broken before the PSL had to be suspended after Covid-19 cases emerged in the teams when Quetta Gladiators successfully defend their target to register the first victory in the current edition.
Qalandars captain Sohail Akhtar said that "dew was visible during practice in the evenings. Batters need to give 100% like the bowlers. Our overseas players are Ben Dunk, Rashid Khan, James Faulkner and Tim David. It's warmer here, so could be a little tough.”
Shadab Khan said: "It's a new, fresh pitch, so hopefully we can get a respectable total. But we have batting depth. 160+ we should get. We had one of the best openers in the first phase of the season, and we have Hasan Ali at No. 9 so that shows depth. We are playing three overseas players: Usman Khawaja (born in Islamabad!), Fawad Ahmed and Colin Munro."
