The registration of an FIR failed to deter Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) MPA from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Fazal Elahi from again interfering in official duty as he stormed a feeder situated at Peshawar-Kohat road on Wednesday and forcibly got the power supply restored, leaving the WAPDA employees present on the occasion stunned, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
It merits mentioning here that only yesterday (Tuesday) a court had granted the MPA pre-arrest bail.
On seeing PTI MPA Fazal Elahi getting power supply restored at gunpoint, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) local leader Rehm Dil Nawaz followed in his footsteps, attacked a grid station situated at Kohat road and exchanged hot words with the WAPDA staff deputed there.
Police had to intervene to calm down the situation. “You are torturing people mentally in this intense heat by resorting to loadshedding,” the PML-N leader said, and added he would get the power supply restored at all costs.
The duration of the unannounced power outages in areas adjacent to Peshawar-Kohat road ranged between 10 to 14 hours.
A few days ago, PTI MPA Fazal Elahi had stormed a grid station in Peshawar along with hundreds of his companions and tried to incite people against the power supply company in the city.
According to Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco), PTI MPA Fazal Elahi along with his 400 companions besieged the grid station in Peshawar.
The MPA shifted the commercial feeder load to residential feeder load. The company said that the provincial assembly member did not leave alone the Pesco official in his bid to lower the load on the commercial feeder.
The Pesco officials further said that the PTI MPA also blocked the Ring Road and incited people against the power supply company.
