CJP urges govt to nurture nature-loving values to combat climate change

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Faiz Isa has urged the government to promote nature-friendly policies and spread awareness about preservation of the nature in society, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


Addressing a conference on climate change which was organized by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the CJP said: os , “We have exhausted the natural resources and we have failed to know about nature”.


While talking about Justice Mansoor Ali Shah’s suggestion about hybrid vehicles, he said: “We need to prefer walking-on-foot to move-on-vehicles.


“If the judges agree, bicycles can be provided to all judges.”


Faiz Isa said for environmental protection, there was a need to nurture climate-loving values in homes.


He said, “When we go to the doctor, he tells us remedies like quitting smoking and walking, when human temperature rises, it means we are getting sick”.


The CJP said, “Today the earth was sick, it had caught the fever and the earth was absorbing a lot of smoke."


He said, “We are making plastic but not disposing of it”. He said that sugar was the first drug that was discovered.


He said: “In our childhood days, we were told to save electricity and save food, but now we have ignored this message.”


CJP said, “Science has proved that marine organisms were essential for the survival of the ocean”.


He said, “If we save the tree, the bird can be protected. If the environment was not protected, the survival of living things may be in danger”.


“Every natural sound is beautiful. Every sound created by nature has a good effect on hearing”, Chief Justice of Pakistan added.


“Many human inventions are causing environmental destruction, be it the river or the birds, they have their own rights. The climate change was happening and everyone knew the effects of the change would be disastrous”, Chief Justice Isa remarked.


He urged the government and the masses, “to come closer to nature which will in return protect the environment.”


Meanwhile, Azerbaijan Ambassador while addressing the press conference lauded Supreme Court of Pakistan for holding a moot on key topic.


The “effects of climate change were devastating as climate change was not becoming a future threat rather it will explode during the present era”, Azerbaijan’s envoy concluded.
