Heartthrob Pakistani actor Humayun Saeed confirmed his character in ‘Gentleman’ is inspired by Munna Bhai while Humayun and Yumna addressed the similarities between the characters.

The ongoing Pakistani drama serial 'Gentleman', in which Humayun Saeed is playing Iqbal Munna (a local goon) with a surprising streak of innocence who is falling for the lovely Zarnab played by Yumna Zaidi.

His character has drawn inevitable comparisons to the beloved Munna Bhai from the 2003 Bollywood hit Munna Bhai MBBS, played by none other than Sanjay Dutt.

During a candid interview with 'Something Haute', Humayun revealed that he felt that the character might be inspired by Munna Bhai. He spoke to Khalil ur Rehman Qamar who said that it’s okay if he feels that way as the story will change in the future and after a bit, they started feeling that way too.

“The character didn’t need to be this way, but that’s the way Khalil-ur-Rehman wrote it. The way he wrote it was that this character is inspired by the character of Munna Bhai.”

He teased, “The fifth episode is coming soon; you’ll find the answer to this question in that. You’ll have to watch the fifth episode.”

Yumna said, “It could be”, hinting at possible twists without giving too much away.

He also talked about Zarnab slapping Munna and whether it was justified. He said that with that slap he was impressed with Zarnab that this woman is so brave and badass that she is not scared by Iqbal Munna at all and that is why he falls for her.
