Show-cause notices to 68 officers and employees of National Assembly Secretariat have been issued for not marking their biometric attendance, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq asked officers and employees to respond to the show-cause notices within seven days.
According to NA Secretariat, biometric attendance is mandatory for all officers and employees of the National Assembly Secretariat as per the directions of Speaker.
Non-observance of biometric attendance of officers and employees falls under the category of misconduct.
All employees and officers must ensure biometric attendance, otherwise disciplinary action will be taken, secretariat warns.
Among the officers and employees who have been issued citations are project managers, managers, deputy managers, section officers, drivers, deputy messengers and other staff.
According to sources, the Speaker had received a report that ghost employees were receiving salary but not coming to the office.
To trace such officers and employees, the speaker directed to ensure biometric attendance, sources said.
